Dr Russell Hurn has wide experience of mental health services within the NHS and Voluntary Sector, and is available for consultation work on an hourly or short term contract basis.
He can contribute to the understanding and development of IAPT compliant services, routine outcome monitoring, evidence based practice, collaboration, improving access and reducing the stigma of mental health difficulties.
For the past six years Dr Hurn has worked as clinical lead for a local charity with the aim of improving clinical services and to adhere to the principles of the Government Scheme IAPT (Increasing Access to Psychological Therapies).
Following his clinical training Dr Hurn completed a PG Cert programme with the University of Reading in Transformational Leadership in Children and Young People’s mental Health. He has contributed to the development of new training for professionals and continues to do this in his new role with the Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families http://www.annafreud.org.
Dr Hurn’s recent Clinical Director role involved the development and tendering for new services while forming effective working relationships with multi-agency teams and commissioners to fulfill the requirements of local transformation plans.
